On Friday Cochise dropped his second studio album THE INSPECTION and I was VERY impressed. His career has been on the rise over the last couple years and there was a lot of anticipation over wether or not his next album would solidify his place in the rap industry. I think it’s fair enough to conclude-it has.
The album consists of 13 songs with features from artists such as Chief Keef, Young Nudy, and more. One thing I really like about Cochise is that he always stays true to himself on his songs. Even though he is a similar sound to peers such as Playboi Carti and Ken Car$on, I can listen to a song and instantly be able to distinguish him from these other artists.
Another thing that needs to be talked about is the production on the album. It was INSANE. Songs were made by an array of producers such as 808iden, Harold Harper, AC Flow, and even Cochise himself. While the majority centered around electronic percussion patterns, they were different enough to the point that I didn’t get bored by them and they did not feel repetitive which was a relief. I was excited to see what each track held.
While we have our Carti’s of the world that bring a dark twist to trap, Cochise brings a different perspective to the mosh-pit era and gives a fresh new take on music that is already loved by our generation. He fits perfectly into the hip-hop industry and definitely brings a lighter version to concert music. Even though this is typically not the kind of music I listen to, I was very impressed and glad I did. I will absolutely keep an eye on Cochise and recommend that everyone go and check out THE INSPECTION.
