Over the last couple years $not has become a household name in the rap industry. Every time he teases dropping something I find myself extremely excited for the release and this is because I don’t know what to expect. On Friday $not dropped a new single ‘Immaculate’ which furthered my curiosity.
$not always keeps us guessing with his music which is a major reason why I think his fans adore him. He definitely has a distinct echoey sound that differentiates him from other artists, but he makes a variety of music ranging from hype music with songs such as ‘Doja’ to slow-moving love songs such as on ’Blue Moon’.
The new single ‘Immaculate’ is a very slow-moving melancholic beat that gives $not the creative space to do as he pleases. While the background may be slow, he moves quickly through verses rapping quite fast. Upon first listening its easy for the lyrics to get overshadowed by the melody, but he does indeed drop some heavy hitting bars in the song such as:
