Generational talent isn’t a term that should be thrown around lightly, but there is no other way to describe Zinadelphia. I really can’t think of an artist that I’ve had more confidence in, and that has proven so much in a short amount of time.
The Philly native has pioneered a new sound that brings back nostalgic neo-soul melodies and combines it with the modern sounds of pop. Her signature raspy voice is unlike any current artist and her fans can feel her emotion on every song she creates. In her first single dropped on major platforms titled ‘Mirrorball’, you can hear the pain echoed in her voice that makes you feel like you are ’17 again’. The song is a love letter over a distorted guitar loop that gives Zinadelphia the wiggle-room to show off that voice and bring her vocals to the forefront of the track, but ends with that jazzy twist of a saxophone solo.
Her second release “Love Language” is what in my opinion cemented her place in the industry. After teasing fans for months on her TikTok page, she finally released the song that had listeners going crazy. Once again exploring the boundaries of modern neo-soul and jazz, she delivers over a catchy guitar and absolutely beastly bass line to create a happy summertime melody.
In 2023 she dropped an EP with a number of these tracks on it including one titled ‘Cosmos’ which was another masterpiece. There’s really no other way to describe it, you just have to listen to it and you’ll know exactly what we’re talking about. It sounds like something you’d here from a vet in the industry, not from someone who doesn’t have a major studio album done yet. Everything from the layering of vocals in the intro to the melody that carries throughout the song is insane and makes you feel like you’re floating.
I really cannot speak highly enough about this young artist and even though some may think it is a little biased because she is a Philly-native, rest assured if you take just 10 seconds to listen to her you will fully understand the hype and be hooked.
